Here at the San Diego Comic-Con Warner Bros. has an early playable version of Super Scribblenauts on the show floor. Hopefully by now you're aware that Super Scribblenauts seems to fix the control issues the first game had and the inclusion of adjectives has us excited for it all over again. We played through the first three levels today and here are the solutions that worked for us. Of course, the beauty of Scribblenauts is that there are many, many ways to solve these puzzles.
Level 101: Create a natural habitat for each animal.
We were presented with a tiger, a cow, and a mountain climber. For the tiger we created a jungle, and he was so happy he started doing somersaults. For the cow, a farm. And for the mountain climber...well, no use taxing our brains any more than we have to. We just created a mountain for him. Level complete. Everyone's happy.
Level 102: He only sleeps at night.
Here we have a lion who we presumably need to put to sleep (not that kind of sleep, sicko). In an attempt to make use of the new adjective feature we summoned a starry sky and placed it above the tiger's head. Nothing. Then we created a simple moon and that made him doze off immediately. Problem solved.
Level 103: Give the skydiver something to slow his fall.
We stood atop a cliff alongside a skydiver. A parachute is the obvious choice, right? Yep, that works. Create a parachute and he'll jump off the cliff and glide to the ground below. Unfortunately, the parachute didn't actually open, so he just sort of hovered magically in the air. But this was an early build we were playing and hopefully we'll get the full parachute effect in the final game.
We also tried creating a hang glider for the skydiver, but that didn't seem to work. To test the adjective system we gave him a lead parachute, but sadly it worked just like a regular parachute and didn't send him plummeting to his death.
So Super Scribblenauts is definitely fun but as you can tell there is some strange behavior. We should have a near-finished build in the IGN office very soon that we can spend some real quality time with.
