If you like to keep track of Shigeru Miyamoto's activities because they often provide hints to his upcoming games, there's some pertinent info coming out of Nintendo's recent shareholder briefing. During a Q&A session, Miyamoto said that he's been swimming quite a bit of late and also spending time with children as part of a youth guidance council.
Past "hobby" talk from Miyamoto lead to Pikmin, from his talk of gardening, and, more recently, Nintendogs + Cats, from his talk of taking care of cats.
Before you start speculating about swimming games and parenting simulators, it should be noted that Miyamoto may not have been speaking about his hobbies here. He was using the swimming and youth work as examples of some of his activities as a means of showing how active he is.
